Welsh band the Stereophonics have confirmed three UK dates as they continue work on a new album.

The short tour will begin next month at Bournemouth’s O2 Academy on December 17th, with a three-date stop at London’s O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire following from December 19th-21st.

Earlier this year, the band’s frontman Kelly Jones confirmed recording had begun on their eighth album, telling Bang Showbiz: “The album is really good so far. We’ve been in the studio for a few weeks and we’re off to Europe next week to do some more recording. The style is a bit different, we’re doing some stuff for films so you’ll have to wait and see.”

The LP will be Stereophonics’ first since 2009’s ‘Keep Calm and Carry On‘, which peaked at number 11 on the UK Album Chart, and spawned the singles ‘Innocent‘ and ‘Could You Be the One?‘.

In addition, their first two albums, ‘Word Gets Around‘ and ‘Performance & Cocktails‘, were re-released last year.
