Details of the legal response made by Noel Gallagher after being threatened with court proceedings by his brother and former Oasis bandmate Liam Gallagher have been detailed in today’s Mirror newspaper.

The tabloid has published a copy of what it claims to be the 14-page document drawn up by Noel Gallagher’s legal team after Liam Gallagher had threatened to sue him over remarks made about events leading to the Oasis split in August 2009.

At a London press conference last summer when announcing his new solo venture Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, Noel also offered up his version of the final months of the legendary Manchester band, claiming his brother had been unhappy at not being allowed to advertise his clothing range Pretty Green in the official Oasis tour programme, while also outlining his belief that the band’s aborted V Festival headline appearance was a result of Liam being hungover.

In response, Liam Gallagher demanded an apology for what he believed to be ‘lies’, and declared he was ready to take his brother to court if a retraction wasn’t forthcoming. And now, it appears an official response to the legal challenge, which repeats the allegations made back in July, was delivered earlier this month, the details of which can be read on the Mirror’s website.

Isn’t it a pity those two split? It was one of my most favourite bands ever. I got to see Noel´s Toronto concert earlier this month and it was great but with Liam it would definitely have been even better.
