Coldplay have added more dates to their ambitious UK outdoor jaunt next year, after tickets sold out within 90 minutes of going onsale this morning (November 18th).

The band’s original run included shows in Coventry, London, Sunderland and Manchester, and due to the high demand an extra date has now been added at the Emirates Stadium, home of Arsenal Football Club on June 4th, and in Manchester on June 10th.

The speed at which Coldplay’s tour sold out is further proof of the continuing interest in live music around Britain despite the current economic climate and rising ticket prices.

Just last month, The Stone Roses‘ comeback shows at Manchester’s Heaton Park became the fastest selling rock gigs of all time in the UK according to reports, while the summer festival season, once again spearheaded by a 180,000 sell out at Glastonbury, remains a massive draw for music fans.

Coldplay’s stadium tour is in support of their 2011 album ‘Mylo Xyloto‘, which hit the top spot on both sides of the Atlantic upon its release in October.
