Punk pioneers The Damned, whose track ‘New Rose‘ was one of the first UK punk singles, have announced a series of tour dates to celebrate their 35th anniversary.

The Damned will play 11 dates across Britain throughout November, beginning at the Bristol O2 Academy on November 9th. A show at London’s Roundhouse venue will follow on the 12th, with the final date coming at Edinburgh’s HMV Picture House on November 20th.

Speaking of their upcoming anniversary, Captain Sensible, the band’s chief songwriter, has said:

“Whole musical genres have come and gone in the time this band has been playing. We just try to make music that we enjoy, and if other people are into it, that is a bonus. We certainly never made music to follow any trends. We must be doing something right because after 35 years, we still meet fans and musicians all over the world that blame us for corrupting their youth!”
