U2 Mark 20th Anniversary Of ‘Achtung Baby’ With New Deluxe Editions

achtungbabyU2 will celebrate the 20th anniversary of seventh studio album  ‘Achtung Baby‘ this November with a new deluxe re-release.

Originally released in November 1991 and described by frontman Bono at the time as ‘the sound of four men chopping down The Joshua Tree’, the album was another commercial success for the band despite the change of direction, and spawned the singles ‘The Fly‘, ‘Mysterious Ways‘, ‘One‘, ‘Even Better Than The Real Thing‘ and ‘Who’s Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses‘.

This coming October, five different versions of the album will be made available, complete with videos, remixes, b-sides and documentary footage, as well as newly unearthed unreleased songs and takes from the original recording sessions.

Deluxe formats will include From the Sky Down, a new documentary made by the Academy Award winning Davis Guggenheim, which will see U2 returning to the birthplace of ‘Achtung Baby’, Berlin’s Hansa Studios, to discuss the making of the record.

Due for release on October 31st, the five physical editions include vinyl, CD and DVD, with digital options also available.
