Organisers of the annual Pop Montreal event will stage a free Arcade Fire gig on September 22nd to celebrate the festival’s 10th anniversary.
The hometown show for Arcade Fire will also offer the band an opportunity to further contribute to the KANPE charity, with the first 100 people who make a donation of $200 or more to the fundraisers receiving passes to the VIP area on the day of the show.
“Our band couldn’t exist without Montreal,” commented Régine Chassagne in a statement. “After having had the chance to tour extensively around the world, we’re very excited to finally come home. And to do so the Montreal way, we hoped to play a free outside show on the very last day of summer as a big ‘thank you’ to the beautiful city we love so much.”
The homecoming gig will be broadcast live by SiriusXM Canada – for Sirius and XM subscribers in Canada, and Sirius channels 152 and 161, as well as XM channel 151, in the US.
