Support Bands For Noel Gallagher’s Debut UK Tour Unveiled

Brighton-based band the Electric Soft Parade will provide the bulk of the support when Noel Gallagher takes his High Flying Birds out on their maiden UK tour this coming October.

It has been announced today the band will be first up for Gallagher’s gigs in Manchester and Edinburgh, as well as his first London show at the Hammersmith Apollo on October 29th.

After a relatively quiet few years, the Electric Soft Parade are expected to release a fourth studio album next year. They have a long association with Noel Gallagher, having supported Oasis on numerous occasions in the past.

Reading / Leeds Taking No Chances After Festival Deaths This Summer

Melvin Benn, organiser of the Reading / Leeds twin festivals, has insisted every emergency measure is in place for the coming weekend after the deaths of over ten festival-goers during recent weeks.

Events in Indiana (State Fair) and Belgium (Pukkelpop) have recently been hit with stage collapses following severe weather, leading to tragic deaths on both sites.

Now, with some reports suggesting thunder storms could hit Reading during the course of this weekend, Benn has moved to re-assure fans every precaution is being taken to ensure the festivals pass without incident.

Muse: No New Material At Reading / Leeds 2011

Muse have reiterated they will not be performing any new material when they perform at the Reading / Leeds festival, which officially kicks off at the twin sites tomorrow (August 26th).

The band’s bass player Chris Wolstenholme told the Daily Star the three bandmates have been unable to rehearse or record any new material in the build up to Reading / Leeds due to frontman Matt Bellamy‘s new family life.

Video: Martin Scorsese’s George Harrison Documentary Trailer

The trailer for the hotly-anticipated new George Harrison documentary Living In The Material World, directed by the Oscar-winning Martin Scorsese, has been released, and can be viewed below.

The new film will air in the US for two nights on the HBO network on October 5th and 6th, and is available to pre-order on DVD and Blu-ray now. In addition, the documentary will be aired for one night only across UK cinemas on October 4th.

Kasabian Announce Large UK Arena Tour

Kasabian will embark on a large UK arena tour from the end of November in support of forthcoming album ‘Velociraptor!

The Leicester band will begin the tour on November 28th at the Brighton Centre, before moving across to Wales for a show at Cardiff’s Motorpoint Arena on the 30th.
