Stars from across the musical landscape have been paying tribute to Amy Winehouse, who was found dead in her London residence on Saturday afternoon (July 23rd).
Producer Mark Ronson, who played a leading role in the superb 2006 album ‘Back To Black‘ and also collaborated on his own album ‘Version‘, has called Winehouse his ‘musical soul mate’, and added that Saturday was one of the saddest days of his life.
Countless other musicians have also been adding their thoughts. Lily Allen said the singer’s death is ‘beyond sad’, and commented that ‘she was such a lost soul, may she rest in peace.’
Boy George has said he could not ‘contain my sadness and anger’ and said it was a ‘deeply sad day for many reasons’, while new star Jessie J said: “The way tears are streaming down my face. Such a loss.”
Meanwhile, Amy Winehouse’s family have moved quickly today to deny weekend reports that the British singer-songwriter died from an ecstasy overdose, branding the rumours as ‘nonsense’.
