Marianne Faithful Doubts The Accuracy Of Keith Richards’ Autobiography

keithrichardsMarianne Faithful has revealed she doubts the veracity of elements of Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards‘ autobiography Life – particularly the well publicised portions which refer to his often fractured relationship with Mick Jagger.

In an interview with Spinner, Faithful was asked whether the book constitutes an accurate portrayal of their history, to which she replied: “Not completely accurate, no, but I liked it very much. I don’t think accuracy really matters.”

When pressed further, Faithful pointed to certain comments made by Richards towards Jagger, and questioned the role of the book’s editor in the project.

“I think he made a few mistakes,” she continued. “I wish he hadn’t said those awful things about Mick, I think that was a bit much. I happen to know that Michael Peach is the editor and he’s always been trying to get someone to say that. He wanted me to say that and I would never do it, but I would have gotten more money if I had.”
