The Holloways have become the latest band to announce their split today, following similar decisions recently by The Music and The Bluetones.

The band plan to perform a farewell show at London’s Relentless Garage on May 23rd, and explained in a message on their official website that a series of unfortunate events during their seven year career had persuaded them to call it quits.

“As many of you will know we have had a few problems through the years,” they wrote. “Fires burning all our stuff down. Labels going bust, friends leaving the band to name but a few. This has left us deciding to call it a day.”

The Holloways joined a spate of indie dancefloor contemporaries in 2005 with the release of debut single ‘Generator‘, taken from first record ‘So This Is Great Britain?‘, which eventually reached the UK’s Top 20 after a second re-release in June 2007. Final album ‘No Smoke, No Mirrors‘ came in October 2009.
