The Vines To Return With New Album In April

vinesAussie band The Vines are to return in April with their fifth studio album, reports Triple J.

Entitled ‘Future Primitive‘, the album was recorded in Paris with producer Chris Colonna, and is set to feature tracks including ‘Gimme Love‘ and ‘Black Dragon‘ along with the title track, which were given their live debut last year. The LP will be the band’s first since 2008’s ‘Melodia‘, and was recorded between February and March 2010.

With the release of debut album ‘Highly Evolved‘ in 2002, The Vines became one of the most talked about new rock acts of the last decade, and were put at the forefront of the so-called ‘New Rock Revolution’ by many UK publications, specifically NME. The single ‘Get Free‘ became a huge radio hit for the band and broke into the UK’s top 40 in the June of 2002.

The debut was followed by ‘Winning Days‘ in 2004 and ‘Vision Valley‘ in 2006.
