London trio White Lies have announced the title of their forthcoming second studio album, and have also released details of the record’s tracklist.

Entitled ‘Ritual‘, the album is due for release on January 17th next year, and has been produced by Alan Moulder. As widely expected, the LP will feature tracks such as ‘Holy Ghost‘, ‘The Power and The Glory‘ and ‘Bigger Than Us‘.

Speaking to NME, frontman Harry McVeigh outlined the themes which run through the follow up to 2008’s ‘To Lose My Life‘. “It’s about love with a bit of religion in there as well – a lot of religious imagery,” he said. “Things like that, they’re all rituals. Things you associate with your day-to-day life, but they’re also habits.”

Ritual‘ is set for release on CD, digital, 12’180gm vinyl and special limited ‘edition 7’ box set formats. The box set will include goodies such as a 7″ of an exclusive track, a bonus CD of remixes and signed artwork. The band are due to premiere the album at a sold out gig at London’s York Hall venue on 22nd November.
