The Jam are to release a new, deluxe version of their classic 1980 album ‘Sound Affects‘ to celebrate it’s 30th anniversary, and will include a newly unearthed cover of The Kinks‘ classic single ‘Waterloo Sunset‘ with the package.

Former Stranglers Frontman Hugh Cornwell hits the road this October for a series of US and Canadian dates. The show features two sets – the first will feature a collection of Stranglers hits and classic solo material, with the second featuring The Stranglers seminal debut album ‘Rattus Norvegicus IV‘ being performed in its entirety for the first time in North America. The three piece band on this tour features Hugh Cornwell on guitar/vocals, Fish on bass/vocals and Clem Burke from Blondie on drums.

Every bit as powerful and insightful as their classic work, CONTENT, the new album from Gang Of Four, sees founding members Jon King and Andy Gill continuing to deliver intelligent, powerful and liberating rock & roll that is both provocative and simply thrilling. “What we’re trying to do is keep it totally stripped down, where everyone in the band makes an equally intense contribution,” says King. With the simple but tough and loud sound of drums, guitar, bass and vocals on new tracks like “Who Am I?,” “You Don’t Have To Be Mad,” “I Can’t Forget Your Lonely Face” and “I Party All The Time,” the songwriting on CONTENT is just as challenging and unconventional in 2010 as it was in 1978.

Just a few days after accusing former Joy Division/New Order member Peter Hook of ‘living off Ian Curtis’ blood money’ in the aftermath of their project Freebass ending acrimoniously, Primal Scream’s Mani has now apologised for the actions which he claims were ‘completely out of character’.

Pop superstar Lady Gaga was the big winner at last night’s MTV Video Music Awards, coming out on top in eight categories including Video Of The Year and Best Female, all astronauts were awarded for her track ‘Bad Romance‘.

Bands including Four Tet, Los Campesinos!, Local Natives and Broken Social Scene lead the line-up for a new British music festivall which is to take place at Leeds University in November.
