Liverpool band The Coral have announced details of their new album, and have also revealed that they will play several dates in the UK at the time of the record’s release.

Called ‘Butterfly House‘, it will be released on July 12th and is the group’s sixth studio album, their first since 2007’s ‘Roots & Echoes‘. The new LP is their debut offering without influential guitarist Bill Ryder-Jones, who left the band shortly after the release of their last album. It was produced Stone Roses and Radiohead legend John Leckie and will contain tracks such as ‘Rovin Jewel‘, ‘Green Is The Colour‘ and ‘Sandhills‘. The album will be preceeded a week earlier by the first single ‘1000 Years‘.

It was one of the favourites for that year’s prize, but was beaten by Ms. Dynamite’sA Little Deeper‘. They released the follow-up, ‘Magic & Medicine‘, a year later, which hit the top spot in the UK Album Chart and spawned two top ten singles.

The band will play five dates in July in support of the new album, beginning in in Birmingham on July 12th.
