Bloc Party frontman Kele Okereke has announced details of his forth-coming debut solo record.
To be released under Okereke’s solo title Kele, ‘The Boxer‘ will be issued on June 21st and will be preceded by the first single, ‘Tenderoni‘, on June 14th.
The album was produced primarily in New York with electro-rap producer XXXchange, and Kele told NME.COM that the record will showcase a more dance-tinged sound than Bloc Party: “I’ve been into clubbing for years,” he said. “I’ve said from the beginning I’m into dance, it gets me excited and I think this record is going to go some way to prove that to people, hopefully.”
After releasing their third studio album ‘Intimacy‘ in August 2008, which was followed by the stand-alone single ‘One More Chance‘ in August 2009, Kele’s band Bloc Party has been considered to be on a hiatus since last October.
‘The Boxer’ tracklisting:

‘On The Lam’
‘Tenderoni’
‘The Other Side’
