Formed in Brighton in 2005, Blood Red Shoes are set to release their second studio album today (1/3). ‘Fire Like This’ is the follow-up to 2008’s ‘Box Of Secrets’, has been highly praised by critics and has been dubbed a ‘raw, unfussy rock record that forsakes gloss or studio tricks for instinct and urgency.’ The duo will be on the road in the UK throughout March in support of the new album.

Brendan Benson plays the UK leg of his European tour this week, playing London, Glasgow and Manchester before moving on to Paris. One of the US’ most talented songwriters, Brendan Benson released his fourth solo studio album ‘My Old Familiar Friend in August 2009, which was recorded in between his sessions with The Raconteurs alonside White Stripes leader Jack White.

Stereophonics begin a UK arena tour this week, in support of their new album ‘Keep Calm and Carry On’, which was released at the end of last year. With plenty of radio-friendly hits from their career, Stereophonics have established themselves as one of the UK’s top live attractions.

Kendal four-piece Wild Beasts have become one of Britain’s highest-rated new bands since releasing their debut album ‘Limbo, Panto’ in 2008. They gained further momentum in August last year when they released their second record ‘Two Dancers’, again to widespread acclaim. It recieved a rare 9/10 in NME magazine, who were quoted as saying: “this beautiful album is a treasure that deserves plundering.” Definitely a band worth seeing live, check out a selection of their tracks on their myspace page:
