Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett’s animated rat pack, Gorillaz have reached out to a star studded ensemble on Plastic Beach, including Lou Reed, Mark E Smith, Snoop Dogg, De La Soul and Super Furry Animals‘ Gruff Rhys. It get’s better: The Clash’s Mick Jones and Paul Simonon reunite on the title track.
Jamie Hewlett’s animated characters appear in an interactive online video game on the band’s official site promoting the new tracks.
Gorillaz were announced as one of the headliners for this year’s Coachella festival in Indio, California, topping the event’s April 18 bill along side Spoon, Pavement, Thom Yorke, and dozens more.
