The 2009 CMJ Music Marathon & Film Festival will run through Saturday night (or early Sunday morning, if you want to get technical) all over New York City, and will feature showcases and panels such as in-depth discussion with the minds behind the musical Hair (Friday, 2 p.m., Eisner Auditorium), the premiere of the George Clooney film The Men Who Stare At Goats (Wed, 7 p.m., Clearview Cinemas Chelsea) and performances from School Of Seven Bells, Atlas Sound, the Antlers, Flying Machines, Speech Debelle and many, many more. Over 120,000 fans, artists, filmmakers, and industry pros from around the globe are expected to visit New York for some good ol’ Marathon madness.
There are a slew of great UK bands visiting this year so be sure to go out and support them. Below is a list of British bands that are scheduled to appear at the many venues through out the Big Apple over the coming week.
