Unknown Mortal Orchestra‘s EP ‘Blue Record‘, intended as a companion piece to the 2013 album ‘II‘, is being previewed in full online – head over to this link.
According to Ruban Nielson, the EP is the result of him picking up an acoustic guitar for the first time last year, and features acoustic versions of three ‘II’ tracks, as well as covers of Beck‘s ‘Puttin’ It Down‘ and Dirty Projectors‘ ‘Swing Lo Magellan‘. The EP is soon to be released as a limited edition vinyl, and can also be found on the expanded version of ‘II’, which is out now.
Unknown Mortal Orchestra have a long stretch on the tour bus ahead of them for the next few months, and are due to arrive in the UK for dates in London and Manchester early next month which form a part of a wider European tour.
The new year begins with a series of Asian dates, and continues with shows in Australia and New Zealand as part of the Laneway Festival during February 2014.
