Titus Andronicus albums are always intriguing affairs, whether it be 2010’s The Monitor – tied together by the American Civil War and one of the great modern rock records – or their most recent effort The Most Lamentable Tragedy, an ambitious, five-part rock opera consisting of 29 songs and described as a ‘work of fiction’ by frontman Patrick Stickles.
For the new album A Productive Cough, Stickles has said the ballads which ‘Titus Andronicus records have always had their fair share of’ are now the ‘cornerstones’, the first preview Number One (In New York) reflecting these sentiments whilst still retaining the band’s trademark flamboyancy.
They’ll be touring North America extensively after the LP’s release on March 2nd.
