Marking the 30th anniversary of the release of The Smiths‘ classic single ‘This Charming Man‘ in a thoroughly modern way, the Official Charts Company has revealed it to be the most downloaded song from either the band or lead singer Morrissey.
The OCC has presented the ten most downloaded songs from The Smiths and Morrissey’s solo career, and finds ‘This Charming Man’ at the top ahead of the equally seminal tracks ‘How Soon Is Now?‘ and ‘There Is a Light That Never Goes Out‘.
From Morrissey’s solo career, his 2004 single ‘First Of The Gang To Die‘ has proved to be the most popular in the digital world, with the 1988 efforts ‘Everyday Is Like Sunday‘ and ‘Suedehead‘ also featuring.
