The Vaccines have described The Stone Roses‘ imminent homecoming Heaton Park shows as ‘the one place to be in the world’ as they gear up to support the reunited band on the first of three shows which will be held over the course of this weekend.
The London band will share the bill with the likes Primal Scream and The Wailers on June 29th before the Roses take to the stage, and Freddie Cowan has been telling NME of the significance of the opening show.
“Obviously I wasn’t there the first time around, but I love the band and I think John Squire is amazing,” he said. “I can’t wait to see it. It’s the one place in the world to be that day – Heaton Park with The Stone Roses, it’s going to be incredible. We’re just really happy to be at the centre of that. They’re a fucking great band – you can’t argue with that.”
“At the end of the day it’s a very cool gig to be part of, but I like to think that we got the call because we’re quite good at what we do,” Pete Robertson added. “So we’ve just got to go and do what we do.”
