The Molotovs by Nick Benoy
The Molotovs’ tour goes on sale from February 5th.
The Molotovs have announced a run of UK and Ireland tour dates for later this year following the release of their debut album Wasted On Youth.
They’ll start in Cardiff on September 3rd at the Tramshed and are due in Leeds for a gig at The Wardrobe on the 17th of that month.
Also booked are shows in Belfast and Dublin on October 2nd and 3rd.
Live4ever was at the recent Bristol Thekla concert, finding a duo whose focus on the night was solely on performance.
“The driving More More More and the pulsating No Time To Talk are particular highlights,” the review reads. “It’s not without hope; towards the end, forthcoming album track My Metallic Wife hints at a slightly more polished direction.”
“There’s not much else in contemporary British rock that sounds like The Molotovs, and for that they must be applauded, yet that uniqueness feels fragile.”
They’re clearly onto something, but until they carve out an identity that goes beyond their influences, they risk being remembered more for who they sound like than who they are.
