Spending a significant amount of time immersed in their authentic indie classic ‘Pyschocandy‘ is likely to lead to a brand new studio album from The Jesus & Mary Chain.
“We’ve got the material, we’ve talked about doing an album for so long now,” Jim Reid has told NME. “We are kind of coming round to being in agreement, which is a bit weird for us. There will be an album — we will get it together. I’m more convinced now than I ever have been that there will be a new Mary Chain album.”
The duo began celebrating the 30th anniversary of ‘Psychocandy’ via a bunch of UK live dates in 2014, and are continuing this year with more UK shows and various festival appearances across the globe.
A headline visit to North America is also in the works and starts at Canadian Music Week in Toronto on May 1st.
