The Hives have returned with a new single which should be followed by an album next year.
I’m Alive is the band’s first offering of new material since 2012’s Lex Hives studio LP, and was produced by Oasis cohort Dave Sardy. “I’m Alive is a song about crawling up from under a rock and obliterating all resistance that sounds like crawling up from under a rock and obliterating all resistance because it is a band crawling up from under a rock and obliterating all resistance,” frontman Pelle Almqvist has said.
“Use it in your own life to help you obliterate your own resistance!”
The Hives are currently touring North America with Refused and will play The Vic Theatre in Chicago tonight. Among their later European festival spots are
INmusic in Zagreb, Croatia; Lollapalooza Stockholm and Mad Cool in Spain.
