The Enemy have admitted they are entering the ‘make or break’ period of their career as they work on a third studio album.
After being a part of a commercially successful period for British guitar bands when they released debut album ‘We’ll Live and Die In These Towns‘ in 2007, The Enemy found the going a lot tougher when the follow up ‘Music For The People‘ arrived in 2009.
And now, after the fluctuating fortunes of their previous efforts, frontman Tom Clarke has told NME any forthcoming album will be the one which will define their future as a band.
“A lot of bands experience the pivot point in their career where it’s make or break on their second album, but I don’t think we did that,” he said. “This album will be the one that defines where that goes – whether it doesn’t work and we go ‘That’s it’ or we find the sound that drives us forward.”
Clarke also revealed they have 30 songs written for the LP, and are aiming for a release next year.
