She Drew The Gun have been named as the winners of this year’s Glastonbury Emerging Talent competition for 2016.
After opening the contest in January, eight finalists were revealed last month, and She Drew The Gun proved to be the judges’ favourites at a live final during the weekend ahead of Gillbanks, Bossy Love, Early Ghost, Hattie Whitehead, Henry Green, Lady Sanity and Marcus McCoan.
They went home with a £5,000 PRS For Music Foundation Talent Development prize, and a guaranteed place on one of Glastonbury’s main stages this June.
“New music has always been a huge part of what we do at Glastonbury, and the Emerging Talent Competition has become an incredible way for us to discover – and help draw attention to – the very latest talent,” Glastonbury co-organiser Emily Eavis has said.
She Drew The Gun join the Glastonbury 2016 bill which is now largely known, and will be topped by Muse, Coldplay and Adele on the main Pyramid stage.
