Richard Hawley will follow-up his 2012 Mercury-nominated album ‘Standing At The Sky’s Edge‘ a little later this year.
Details are sparse at the moment, but we do know on September 11th the Sheffield songwriter releases ‘Hollow Meadows‘, and he’s told NME:
“For me, I’ve found that the simpler I make things, the easier it is to live your life, and to not get bogged down in things that are beyond your control. Just make the music, stick it out and hope you make some friends. It’s not complicated, I don’t think. There’s something quite honourable about that as well.”
‘Standing At The Sky’s Edge’ was the second of Hawley’s solo LPs to receive a Mercury Prize nomination after the brilliant ‘Coles Corner‘ was similarly recognised in 2006.
Last October his earliest solo work – an expanded version of the 2001 self-titled debut, along with ‘Late Night Final‘ and ‘Lowedges‘ – were re-released on heavyweight vinyl and CD formats.
