Queen drummer Roger Taylor and Led Zeppelin bassist John Paul Jones were the special guests of the Foo Fighters on Saturday (September 5th) as the band made its rescheduled visit to the Milton Keynes Bowl.
The pair were onstage to perform a cover of the Queen/David Bowie track ‘Under Pressure‘ with Dave Grohl and co. as the frontman was keen to apologise for cancelling their original date at the outdoor venue earlier on in the summer due to a broken leg.
“It’s been about eleven weeks since the incident,” he’s quoted as saying by NME. “The last thing I wanted to do was cancel shows. I hate cancelling shows. I said ‘I’ve got to get back there as soon as we can’.”
“I’m sorry for making you wait so long. Tonight we’re gonna play some extra long shit, we’re just getting warmed up. Who’s gonna lose their voice first? Not me.”
The set duly included a generous selection of Foo Fighters’ mass-pleasing rock hits such as ‘Everlong‘, ‘All My Life‘, ‘Learn To Fly‘ and closer ‘Best Of You‘.
