Portugal The Man by Nathan Perke
Portugal The Man have also unveiled a UK/European tour.
Portugal The Man have shared two new singles – Tanana and Mush – to accompany the announcement of their new album Shish.
It’s been set for release on November 7th, the European touring due to follow next year with UK gigs confirmed in Glasgow, Manchester and London.
“Mush is survival, connection and ambition,” John Baldwin Gourley has said.
Rural life with moments of danger and absurdity, like dirt bikes, smokers, gunfire, and video games. The repeated line ‘we can be family’ pushes against isolation, reaching for something solid. This is a repeating theme on the record – build a life, support your people, buy land, and grow something lasting.
“The message is simple: don’t give up, want more, and fight for it. Meanwhile, ‘Tanana’ voices a generational sadness, searching for fleeting meaning in a world on edge.”
