Mumford & Sons were at the Manchester Arena on Sunday night (December 6th) as part of the UK and Ireland tour which is closing out 2015 for the band after the release of their third studio album ‘Wilder Mind‘. Live4ever’s Gary Mather has the best of the action.

‘Wilder Mind’ saw Mumford & Sons ditch the banjos and waistcoats for a more electric driven sound, a change which Marcus Mumford explained thus:
“Towards the end of the Babel tour, we’d always play new songs during soundchecks, and none of them featured the banjo, or a kick-drum, we knew it wasn’t going to involve acoustic instruments.”
“We didn’t say, ‘No acoustic instruments’, but I think all of us had this desire to shake it up. The songwriting hasn’t changed drastically; it was led more by a desire to not do the same thing again. Plus, we fell back in love with drums! It’s as simple as that.”
Mumford & Sons continue their tour with two shows at the O2 in London tonight (December 9th) and tomorrow, and will end with another two night stop, in Glasgow, on December 13th and 14th.
