Morrissey made an appearance on late night US television yesterday as his ongoing tour of the US, Mexico and South America currently remains incident free.
The Smiths frontman aired his cover of The Pretenders’ 1982 single Back On The Chain Gang on the Late Late Show With James Corden which, when a promotional video was unveiled last week, he said can ‘safely be counted as a pop classic’. “She sang on my 1991 U.K. single My Love Life and also on a track on my Swords album called Shame Is the Name,” he told Rolling Stone of his relationship with Chrissie Hynde.
“Chrissie is the funniest person in the world, yet she has absolutely no sense of humor. We have been in many absurd situations – all her fault, of course.”
“I know she’d marry me tomorrow, but she’s already had 11 husbands and she’s always being spotted digging in the garden at midnight.”
Morrissey’s tour will continue in San Diego tomorrow at the Copley Symphony Hall.
