Little Man Tate will return later this year for a hometown reunion gig.
The band have this morning confirmed a gig at the O2 Academy in Sheffield on September 18th, over a decade on from their farewell gig at the same venue. “We’ve had offers over the last few years to do something, but it was never the right time due to other things that were going on in our lives,” frontman Jon Windle says. “This time it was perfect, we are all in a really good place and just can’t wait to do it.”
Windle is back with the original line-up of Edward Marriott, Ben Surtees and Dan Fields after the split in 2009 brought a two-album career to an end which had included the cult mid-noughties favourite The Agent.
“It’s something that we have sat down and discussed at length for a while now and we have decided that after a good innings, we’ve achieved what we set out to do and it’s time we moved on to other things,” they said at the time. “We’re all still good mates and we’ll carry on supporting each other whatever we decide to go on and do from here.”
