Lily Lyons plays St Matthias Church in London on February 20th.
Lily Lyons has added two new tracks to her debut album Re-Open The World and is streaming the first of those, Holding Up The Heavens, online now.
Out last year after sessions with producer Joel Pott, the album followed a run of singles and EPs, these including Fabric whose release brought a Presents feature with Live4ever.
“Singing made me feel present and alive so I always was drawn to it,” Lyons told us.
“My main influences growing up were Nick Drake, The Strokes, Sinatra and Simon and Garfunkel; that music got me so excited and I always felt a deep draw to have a go myself.”
I didn’t have any plan for my life when it came to the time when everyone starts deciding what they’re going to do. It was really out of the blue considering I’d never written a song before, saying I wanted to be a songwriter. My family, especially my mum, was very supportive of me going for it.
