Kasabian have plans for a handful of low-key Scottish dates next month prior to their spot headlining the In New Music We Trust stage at Radio 1’s Big Weekend on May 25th.
The main Radio 1 gig takes place at the Glasgow Green, when the Leicester band will have played shows at Kilmarnock’s Grand Hall on May 20th, the Alhambra Theatre in Dunfermline on May 22nd and Dundee’s Caird Hall on May 23rd.
Earlier this week, Kasabian confirmed their latest studio album ‘48:13‘ – named for its running length – is due for release on June 9th. “I felt that we had the confidence to be more direct, more honest with this album,” guitarist and lead songwriter Serge Pizzorno said. “I started to strip away layers rather than to just keep adding.”
“Less is more,” frontman Tom Meighan added. “It’s direct. It is what it is. Just listen to it. We’ve had the confidence to lay ourselves bare. Serge has stripped it right back. It’s unbelievable.”
