Holy Holy have set their second album Paint for release early next year.
This announcement is being supported with a new single, Elevator, on which lead guitarist Oscar Dawson reflects:
“I can’t recall how it germinated, but before we knew it we were playing this same two chords, over and over. And it built from there, like a conversation; starting softly, then bouncing around to become louder and louder.”
“It had been caught on a phone when we were touring in Europe, and back in Australia we put it together and decided that, in fact, it is a song.”
It’s the follow-up to 2015’s debut When The Storms Would Come’ – one of our top picks of last year:
“The wistful opener ‘Sentimental and Monday’ peers softly like a morning dawn as Dawson’s sparse guitar twinkles transform into razor sharp scrapes and Carroll reflects on the past over a relaxed groove, musing over the fact that time is just a series of moments slowly slipping through our fingers.”
