Fat White Family will play a headline show on their Brixton doorstep later this year.
The band are due at the Brixton Academy in London on September 17th, and have said of the show:
“It is with joyous remorse we would like to announce a very special performance at Brixton Academy September 17, for sweet mother Brixton is on the road to well dressed irrelevance, just another open casket in a city bent on deathly formalities.”
“Nostalgia is no substitute for community and dialogue; that being said, if we cannot prove a good example, let us be the sad reminder.”
Fat White Family released their ‘Songs For Our Mothers‘ album earlier this year, and received a glowing review from Live4ever in which we praised it as, ‘a braver, more experimental record than its predecessor‘.
“On ‘Songs for Our Mothers’ the song titles, production, pace, tone, rhythms and everything else besides are designed to challenge,” the review reads. “Designed to push boundaries and taste. Surely that’s the point of music? Maybe not the only point, but an important one.”
