The second track from Richard Ashcroft‘s new solo album Natural Rebel is streaming online.
Speaking about Born To Be Strangers, Ashcroft has emphasised its focus on the guitar:
“This record has more guitar playing on it than the last. We’ve reached the point where the guitar has to do something if you’re gonna play it. It’s got to move you in some way. It doesn’t have to be intricate or muso, it just has to have soul.”
The album is the successor to 2016’s These People, and contains his ‘strongest set of songs to date’. “All my favourite sounds distilled into something that will hopefully give my fans lasting pleasure. It is for them. Music is power.”
Once it’s released on October 19th, a UK tour will start at Glasgow Barrowlands and move on from there to Middlesbrough, Nottingham, Manchester and London.
