The new Bloc Party line-up was live in session for BBC 6Music this morning (September 5th) when they performed fresh cuts ‘Exes‘ and ‘The Good News‘.
The band made the appearance for DJ Lauren Laverne ahead of the official unveiling of their comeback single on Radio 1 this evening.
Bloc Party are returning after a three-year break with only Kele Okereke and Russell Lissack still on board from 2012’s ‘Four‘. Bassist Justin Harris and drummer Louise Bartle have since joined up, adding new life to the group – something which Okereke has said was sorely needed.
“I felt like if things didn’t change it was the point for me to step away and do something else with my life,” he told news.com.au. “But things did change, I feel better for it. Obviously everyone is aware of the line-up situation, this stuff is just coming to light now but we dealt with this two years ago.”
New Order and The Staves will also be performing at Maida Vale this week as part of the BBC 6 Music Live series.
