Miles Kane is going on a punk binge as he seeks inspiration for his next solo record.
It was the recording of his last studio album – 2013’s Don’t Forget Who You Are – which sparked the return of The Last Shadow Puppets with Alex Turner, where a lot of his time since has been spent. But with attention now back on his solo career, Kane has been discussing influences with Fred Perry.
“I’m listening to a lot of punk and post-punk, and I’ve been really obsessed with that first Damned album,” he said. “There’s a song on there called ‘Neat Neat Neat’ that I’ve just been hammering. I’ve been listening to a lot of post punk; like the Cramps, the Misfits.”
“Yeah, it’s really like that,” he continued of his new album’s sound.
