Guns N Roses threatened to walk off stage last night (June 1st) at the O2 Arena in London after money and beer was thrown at the band by sections of the crowd, according to reports.
After another late show appears to have angered fans, NME quotes Guns N Roses bass player Tommy Stinson as telling the crowd in blunt terms: “If you throw any fucking thing on stage, we’ll go home,” while frontman Axl Rose, supported his bandmate by saying he was ‘laying down the law’ after the threat was made.
It’s not the first time Guns N Roses have encountered trouble during a typically eventful tour of UK arenas which began late last month. Earlier in the week, the band were reported to have finished their show at the MEN Arena in Manchester to 10,000 empty seats, after thousands of fans made an early exit due to yet another late appearance by Axl Rose and co.
The only thing encountered by Live4ever when we caught the band live on the tour in Glasgow was a rip-roaring celebration of stadium rock, complete with a highly-praised support slot from Thin Lizzy. Read the review here.
People should know what to expect with this GnR but they still go back for more and moan when they are late on stage! Axl should just put some netting up and encourage them to throw anything they like. I really don’t have any sympathy for the complaining fans. They’ve seen this many, many times before.
so true! if your a true fan like me you expect to wait, cant moan they always do it. just makes it better when they do come out!
