MGMT have shared a new song entitled As You Move Through The World.
As they note when unveiling their first bit of new material since last year’s non-album single In the Afternoon, what everyone needs right now is a ‘7 and a half minute downtempo ambient instrumental track’.
“Hey all you COVIDS— oops, we mean KIDS,” they’ve written on social media. “Since we’re still bummed that we won’t be seeing any of you on tour for the time being, we thought we’d go ahead and release our new track, As You Move Through The World, a little early!”
“Everyone knows we all need a 7 and a half minute downtempo ambient instrumental track to listen to while we’re NOT moving through the world.”
Before that standalone single was the 2018 studio album Little Dark Age, which brought Andrew VanWyngarden and Ben Goldwasser together for the first time in five years.
