Orlando Weeks confirms new solo album Hop Up

Orlando Weeks will release it on January 14th next year.

Orlando Weeks has confirmed the details of his second solo album Hop Up.

Opening with the glorious Deep Down Way Out – ‘a very concise, 2 minutes of freedom’ – the LP is to feature guest appearances from Katy J Pearson and Willie J Healey among others.

“It started with the idea of wanting to fill in some of the blanks that I felt I had left with A Quickening, but quite quickly it turned into something broader,” the Maccabees frontman says.

“The choice was always to take the more positive and uplifting sounding step. Perhaps it shouldn’t have, but as an approach it felt surprisingly novel to me.”
