“To play with an orchestra of amazing musicians felt like real life magic, and to do it in Abbey Road Studio 2 – we couldn’t have asked for anything better,” Royal Blood have said.
Royal Blood have been in Abbey Road to record a live version of Limbo with a 16-piece orchestra.
The version was recorded as an Amazon Original, shining a whole new light on a track which features on the duo’s recently released long player Typhoons.
“There’s nothing better than jolting yourself out of any kind of rut; if titles and words are any marker here then the front half of Typhoons seems to act as a sort of confessional and kiss-off to the pitfalls of history (Oblivion, Who Needs Friends), while the title-track sounds like a story you might be told at the AA: ‘All these chemicals dancing through my veins / They don’t kill the cause – they just numb the pain’,” our review reads.
“With some of the personal demons exorcised, the later tracks feel like the work of musicians ready to just groove a little more now the explanations have been given.”
