Mick Fleetwood’s Peter Green Celebration Concert will be streamed in full by nugs.net on April 24th.
David Gilmour’s cover of Albatross has been premiered online ahead of the physical release of the Peter Green Celebration Concert on April 30th.
Mick Fleetwood and his band had a star-studded list of guests helping them remember the music of perhaps the UK’s greatest blues guitarist when the concert was held at the London Palladium on February 25th last year, but Gilmour sliding on this early Mac classic must’ve been one of the best fits of the night.
“Peter Green taught me two unassailable lessons when it came to music: less is more and don’t worry about being clever,” Fleetwood has said.
“He played from his heart, which is why so many people, musicians, and appreciators alike, gathered in London to pay tribute to him, all of us together bearing witness to the magic of Peter’s music.”
“He revealed himself in his art, which sometimes happens at great cost, as it was with Peter. He showed so much of himself that he had to withdraw. And he did. May he rest easy. He was loved and he will be missed.”
