New Order gave Be A Rebel its first play back in September.
The fact it was written to coincide with a tour which never happened proved to be a nice elegy for live music in 2020.
New Order put Be A Rebel out a couple of months ago nevertheless, at a time when they had hoped to be touring North America with Pet Shop Boys. And they’ve now given the standalone single an official video, put together by Spanish director NYSU.
“We’d previously worked with NYSU from Madrid when they created a memorable video for us to go with Restless, and their imagination and creativity with film really struck a chord with the band,” the band say.
“For Be a Rebel, it has been great to team up with NYSU again, and their inspirational treatment and unique aesthetic compliments the track with a very original vision.”
As recent news leaves us all hoping for 2021 to bring back some normality, New Order and Pet Shop Boys have got their tour of the US and Canada rescheduled for October, September and November next year.
