Dave Vanian, Rat Scabies, Captain Sensible and Brian James have reformed the original Damned line-up and will play four UK shows next summer.
“They said it could never happen,” Captain Sensible has said to Music Week. “So much for animosity and malice between this bunch of individuals – nobody thought we’d ever get back together again, but here we are!”
“I’ve got enough regrets in my life,” Rat Scabies added. “This is one regret I’m really pleased I’m not going to have.”
One of the UK’s pioneering punk bands with many ‘firsts’ to their name, as well as one of the era’s great singles in New Rose, The Damned originals have booked their comeback shows for London, Birmingham, Glasgow and Manchester during the course of nine days in July 2021.
