Past and present are in equal flow for Cloud Nothings, the 10th anniversary of their debut album Turning On set to be swiftly followed early next year with a brand new record entitled The Shadow I Remember.
A ‘birthday edition’ of Turning On is planned for January 29th 2021, but focus has been pinned on new material too, and sessions at the Electrical Audio studios in Chicago of producer Steve Albini will result in The Shadow I Remember’s release on February 26th, the intent to keep things trim first on display with Am I Something.
“I felt like I was locked in a character,” songwriter Dylan Baldi says. “I felt like I was playing a role and not myself. I really didn’t like that role.”
“That’s the goal – I want the three-minute song to be an epic. That’s the short version of the long-ass jam.”
