Doves have served up another slice of the album which will bring over a decade’s wait for a new record from the band to an end on September 11th.
Cathedrals Of The Mind is the latest preview of The Universal Want, Doves’ first studio effort since 2009’s Kingdom Of Rust. It will also spark a UK and Ireland tour in the spring of next year…all being well.
“The song stems from a single hook, which developed to evoke this expansive internal monologue, this never-ending chasm of thought,” Jez Williams says of the track.
“Subconsciously, through words thrown against it and made to fit, it came to be about someone always being on your mind. The listener can form their own ideas. For me, it was about the loss of Bowie.”
