Orlando Weeks will be performing new material during a UK tour which has been confirmed for September.

Since the end of The Maccabees two years ago Weeks has worked on the multimedia Gritterman project, but is now edging closer to his first solo album proper. “The album I’ve been working on for the last eighteen months is very nearly done,” he’s said.

“For me, holding my nerve has been a large part of finishing a record, and there’s a certain confidence that comes from discovering a song can survive in a room full of strangers.”

“The flip side of that is that you unearth problems you wish had stayed buried. There’s every chance it won’t work, but that’s the gamble.”

He’ll play gigs in Glasgow, Manchester, Birmingham and Leeds before ending with two nights at Hoxton Hall in London.

Tour dates:

September
21 – Glasgow, Blue Arrow
22 – Manchester, Deaf Institute
24 – Birmingham, Mama Roux’s
25 – Leeds, Brudenell Social Club
27,28 – London, Hoxton Hall
